Kalinga State University Celebrates 31st Foundation Day and 8th University Charter Day: Reflecting on a Transformative Journey Towards Educational Excellence

Blessed with a Thanksgiving mass, Kalinga State University's 31st Foundation Day and 8th University Charter Day took place this morning, January 24, 2024, at the Kalinga State University gymnasium.

"Keystones Shaping the University: Journey Towards Successes" is the Theme for this year’s Foundation and Charter Day. Various activities were set to be conducted simultaneously and consecutively for whole three days starting today until January 26, 2024.

Highlights of the celebration today is the Launching of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency & Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) at KSU Dagupan Campus. This serves as a pioneering program 1st deputized in university and 1st among all state universities in CAR. As mentioned by the University President, Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang, this is a catalyst for educational innovation in CAR.

Other lined activities are the Retired Employees and University Officials Day which also took place at Davidson Hotel, simultaneous to the launching of ETEEAP, followed by the Smart Scholars Activities, the search for Mr. And Ms. KSU, Colors Of the student spectrum contest, a book fair, the Glitz and Glam by the KSU Faculty and Staff Socialization Day, Alumni day and the sportsfest for faculty and staff.

CHED Commissioner, J. Prospero "Popoy" De Vera III, is expected to visit the University on January 25th as he will be the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker for the University’s 31st Foundation Day and 8th University Charter Day.

As an overview of the Universities journey, 1974 was the birth of Kalinga Community College of Trades (KCCTI) and thru continuous development KCCTI was changed to Kalinga Community College (KCC) in 1978. Provided with continuous efforts, January 26, 1986, when the KCC officially became Kalinga - Apayao State College (KASC), the molder of nation builders. Since then, continuous success was achieved through the visions of each leader. After the unwavering years of being a state college, December 15, 2015, finally marks an overwhelming pride as the university status was finally conferred. Kalinga State University was then the 3rd university established in region CAR.
