Kalinga State University Marks Milestone: Reflecting on Eight Years of Excellence and Achievement

On December 15, 2023, Kalinga State University observed its 8th University Day with a theme focused on "Celebrating Achievement: Recognizing Excellence" at the university gymnasium.

The event commenced with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Dr. Lope T. Buen, the Vice President for Research and Extension. This achievement was a result of the collaborative efforts of the administration, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.

Reflecting on the challenging journey towards the passage of RA10584, Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang, the University President, shared poignant memories during his address. Dr. Bagtang acknowledged the collective efforts that played a pivotal role in transforming Kalinga Apayao State College into Kalinga State University, expressing gratitude for the support received. This University Day celebration holds special significance as it marks his final tenure as president.

The Honorable Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang, the distinguished guest of honor, extended congratulations to KSU for its remarkable achievements, including securing the 8th place in the Licensure Examinations for Teachers and demonstrating excellence in the LET, Bar, and Licensure Examinations for Agriculturists. Mangaoang highlighted the university's commitment to quality and excellence, particularly in recognizing newly appointed and promoted employees.

In his concluding remarks, Mangaoang drew inspiration from Ralph Waldo Emerson, urging the university community to be trailblazers, paving the way for success and inspiring others.

The celebration also featured personal testimonies, including Mr. Mervin Dalingay, a promoted non-teaching staff, who shared his journey and expressed gratitude to President Bagtang and the merit promotion and selection board.
