Kalinga State University Welcomes BSTF Sponsors

The Bagong Silang Texas Foundation (BSTF) Team visited Kalinga State University and met with 33 beneficiaries of their scholarship grants today. The visit marks the beginning of a stronger collaboration and the potential for further scholarship opportunities.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Marilou Adora, Vice President for Academics and Student Development, emphasized the significance of this partnership, highlighting its potential for a lasting and fruitful relationship that could lead to more scholarships for KSU students.

KSU-College of Forestry Hosts Water and Watershed Summit: Focus on Sustainable Management

The College of Forestry hosted a Water and Watershed Summit today, July 10, 2024, at the RnD Conference Hall, Bulanao Campus. The event, spearheaded by University President Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang, and organized by Dr. Robert A. Rodolfo, Dean of the College of Forestry, along with his faculty and staff, was attended by the DENR and NIA representatives, various cooperatives, local government units (LGUs), Provincial Planning and Development Offices (PPDOs), and media practitioners.

The event's theme, "Multiculturalism Towards Regional Autonomy and Development," emphasizes the region's ongoing commitment to the search for regional autonomy.

ASCU-SN 2024 Sports and Socio-Cultural Festival: Celebrating Unity in Diversity

Echague, Isabela—The Association of State Colleges and Universities - Solid North (ASCU-SN) 2024 Sports and Socio-Cultural Festival, hosted by Isabela State University (ISU), took place from July 1 to 5, 2024. This year's festival, themed “ABANTE NORTE: Embracing Differences, Celebrating Togetherness,” brought together 27 State Colleges and Universities from Regions 1, 2, 3, and the Cordillera Administrative Region to celebrate and showcase the richness of their diverse cultures.

KSU President, Dr. Eduardo Bagtang, recognized former Congressman Laurence B. Wacnang for his initiatives towards the construction of the KSU gymnasium, Bulanao campus.

The purpose of the intimate gathering was mainly to recognize the former Congressman Laurence Wacnang for his continued support during the construction of the building. Dr. Bagtang said, Wacnang's generosity and support have been instrumental in providing students and faculty with a state-of-the-art facility for sports and recreational activities. The university personnel especially the pioneer Faculty of then BIBAK-NAS now KSU-Laboratory High School are grateful for Wacnang's dedication to enhancing the campus experience for all.

KSU Receives National ICT Month Plaque of Recognition

Kalinga State University has been honored with the Plaque of Recognition during the National ICT Month Culminating Activity held at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center, Governor Pack Road, Baguio City on June 21, 2024. This accolade underscores KSU's invaluable contributions to the goals and vision of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and its role as a key partner in advancing ICT growth in the Cordilleras.

Participating HEIs include Palawan State University, Western Philippines University, Batangas State University, University of Southeastern Philippines, Guimaras State University, Kalinga State University, Technological University of the Philippines and Occidental Mindoro State College.
