The College of Public Administration and Indigenous Governance (CPAIG) hosted a seminar titled “Bodong System: Its Role in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution” on December 6, 2024, at the Students' Center, Kalinga State University, Bulanao Campus. The event aimed to deepen students' understanding of the core principles of the Bodong System and its significance in promoting peace and social harmony within the Cordillera communities.
The seminar featured prominent members of the Kalinga Bodong Council of Elders (KBCE), including the council's Chairperson, former Tinglayan Mayor Johnny Sr. D. Maymaya. These esteemed Bodong Holders and elders shared their insights and experiences in utilizing the indigenous peace pact system to resolve conflicts and maintain social cohesion.
The initiative reflects CPAIG's commitment to fostering cultural awareness and equipping its students with practical knowledge of indigenous governance systems that contribute to sustainable peace and development in the region.
