Kalinga State University Advances with Six Programs Undergoing Accreditation

From October 9 to 11, 2024, Kalinga State University is set to have six programs undergo rigorous accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). Three of these programs—Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Master of Science in Rural Development, and PhD in Community Development—will be evaluated under the 3rd Survey, Phase II. The remaining three—Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (major in Financial Management)—will undergo assessment as part of the 4th Survey, Phase II.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Marilou B. Adora, KSU's Vice President for Academics and Student Development, expressed deep gratitude to the distinguished accreditors for their willingness to assess the programs, acknowledging the vital role of their evaluation in furthering the university’s commitment to academic excellence.

Dr. Joy Grace P. Doctor, University President, in her opening statement, commended the accreditors for their dedication to public service, emphasizing the significant impact this evaluation will have on the students, the institution, and its stakeholders. “We seriously take our responsibility in assuring our students and stakeholders the quality education they rightfully deserve,” Dr. Doctor affirmed.

Dr. Rhonda Vail Leyaley, Director of Quality Assurance, presented the AACCUP Survey Team, composed of highly qualified and diligent accreditors from various state universities and colleges (SUCs). The team will be responsible for the thorough assessment of the documents submitted for each program.

Before the evaluation commenced, Dr. Laureana M. Lingan, AACCUP Overall Coordinator, presented the purpose of the accreditation process, highlighting the long-term benefits this endeavor will bring to KSU, including program improvement, quality assurance, and enhanced institutional credibility.
