KSU Celebrates Guidance Week with a Focus on Self-Care and Resiliency

KSU- Counselling, Testing, and Placement Center (CTPC) kicked off their annual Guidance Week Celebration today with a vibrant opening program held in front of the College of Education (COED) building during the flag ceremony. This year's theme, "I Matter: Caring and Loving Ourselves through Building Resiliency," aims to promote self-care and mental well-being among students, faculty, and staff.

The event commenced with a lively dance number performed by peer facilitators, which left the audience energized and excited for the activities ahead. In a symbolic gesture, bookmarks were distributed to faculty, staff, and students, encouraging them to prioritize their mental health and resilience.

Continuing the festivities, the CTPC has scheduled a series of engaging events throughout the week. On May 16, 2023, a mass will be held in front of the CTPC, followed by painting competitions with the theme "Paint Your Emotions." This activity aims to provide an artistic outlet for participants to express their feelings and emotions through visual representation.

On May 17, an engaging poster making and slogan making contest will take place in front of the CTPC. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity while creating visually appealing posters and slogans that promote self-care, mental health awareness, and resilience.

May 18 is reserved for a special seminar targeting College Guidance coordinators and students with disabilities (PWD) at the alumni center. The seminar aims to equip coordinators with the necessary skills and knowledge to better guide PWD students towards their academic and personal goals. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.

Concluding the week-long celebration on May 19, the CTPC will be conducting career coaching sessions at Naneng, Bado Dangwa, and Nambaran. These coaching sessions will provide valuable insights and guidance to students, helping them make informed decisions about their future careers.
