He then encouraged everyone to stand firm and carry the name of Kalinga as it is also enfolded in the KSU hymn, “Let Humanity Prevail”.

Dr. Carmelita T. Ayang-ang, a retired professor and who was one of those we were behind the success story of KSU, reminisced how she and other pioneer professors contributed to what KSU has reached today.

Mr. Tomas Carabbacan said that this celebration is an opportunity to renew our friendships and acquaintances. He added that for an institution to become a university, requirements must be met, and we owe this to the collective efforts of both the teaching and non-teaching staff as we are now enjoying the fruits of our labor.

Carabbacan is a retired Chief Administrative Officer who was one of the people behind the university hood of KSU.

Meanwhile, Hon. Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, guest speaker on the said program and was represented by Mr. Regie Wacas expressed his warm congratulations to the 126 faculty and two non-teaching staff who were promoted and the whole KSU family for reaching their 7th year as a university.

Mangaoang highlighted on valuing excellence when he said that EXCELLENCE is what is attached to their oathtaking. “The vivid reality is, you cannot be appointed if you are lacking excellence” he added. He further encouraged the promoted faculty to use their excellence to their advantage, to inspire others, and also to deliver the trailblazing research and the borderless extension programs that will fuel the development among students and the community they serve.

The program was attended by all the KSU retirees of both teaching and non- teaching staff and the whole KSU family.

After the program, the first ever lantern parade in Kalinga was launched thru the initiative of the Sports Director, Mrs. May Shiu Buslig.
