KSU launches relief operation for typhoon victims in Cagayan and Isabela

In response to a distress call for food assistance from typhoon victims in Cagayan and Isabela, KSU through the initiative of its president, Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang, arranged and coordinated a relief operation coursed through Cagayan State University and Isabela State University that resulted to the accumulation of various donations from faculty, staff and students including biscuits, bottled water, clothing and hygiene kits.

Donors flocked the administration building last November 16 to take part in the relief operation and assisted in the repacking of relief goods in which a total of 1,400 food packs was prepared. Most of the donations were ready-to-eat food since it was initially communicated as the immediate need of typhoon victims whose homes were submerged by flood water after #TyphoonUlysses battered practically the entire Luzon mainland including Metro Manila.

An arrangement was made between Dr. Bagtang and CSU President Dr. Urdujah A. Tejada that the relief goods prepared by KSU will be brought to CSU Andrews Campus in Tuguegarao City and selected personnel from CSU will assume the distribution since they are in the best position to know and identify the communities which are in dire need of food.

Another team from KSU also extended relief operation to Isabela State University in Cabagan where half of the food packs prepared were brought for distribution.

“To all those who shared their blessings for the flooded families in Cagayan and Isabela, thank you very much. May you have more blessings.” Bagtang was quoted as saying.
