Ikalingas of Southern USA Remit $1000 to KSU for Filipiniana Library Support

In a gesture of continued support and partnership, the Ikalinga community of Southern USA has remitted $1000 to Kalinga State University to bolster the resources of the Filipiniana Library at the KSU Main Library. This signifies an enduring collaboration between KSU and the Ikalinga community, which commenced in 2018.

The genesis of this partnership dates to the Matchatchatong Festival held in Houston, Texas, where an agreement was reached. KSU President, Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang joined the forging of said agreement when he was invited as guest. Since its inception, members of the Ikalinga organization, led by Engr. John Vincent Ulep, a native of Balantoy, Balbalan, have been steadfast in their support for the Filipinia Library at KSU.

The recent remittance of funds took place during Dr. Bagtang’s last visit in Houston, Texas when they tendered him a welcome party. This gesture shows a sincere commitment of both parties to the enrichment of educational resources and cultural exchange.

With the continued generosity and support of the Ikalinga community in Texas, alongside with the ongoing partnership with KSU, the library is poised to thrive and make an enduring impact on future generations
